TELEHEALTH is an in-home monitoring program that adds significant benefit to some patients. It uses advanced technology to allow additional contact between patients and ADORAY staff. The result is earlier symptom identification and treatment, more effective patient education and improved disease management. Our goals are enhanced patient comfort, security and independence; decreased emergency room visits and hospital readmissions; and ultimately, improved quality of life.

What is Home TeleHealth?

Home telehealth is a method of providing care, monitoring and education to a patient at home using telecommunication technologies all over ordinary telephone lines. An important new tool in the delivery of health care, home telehealth improves patient quality of care and the financial efficiency of healthcare organizations. This program uses live audio and video and simple medical attachments to allow a health care professional to make a "video visit" to the patient's home.

Patient Station

The Patient Station is a small, lightweight unit which features a telephonic stethoscope, blood pressure/pulse meter and the ability to interface other medical attachments according to the patient's needs. It employs a simplified, one-button activation by the patient.. A small video camera is moveable and contains a special macro lens for clear focus on extremely close-up shots. Patients are seen and heard. They can be evaluated visually and verbally, then in more detail with measurements that include heart, lung, and bowel sounds; blood pressure; and other diagnostic readings, depending on the patient.
